Event description

THE MESSENGER – Bridging the gap between science and society

“During the SARS-CoV2 pandemic, mRNA emerged as a powerful new drug class but has also sparked controversy among an unprepared public. As mRNAs’ broad application potential is becoming apparent and the technology is poised to shape the next decades of precision medicine, also beyond vaccines and infectious diseases, public support and a regulatory and political framework are needed to accompany the technical progress.

In a moderated discussion amongst tought leaders from science and society, the event aims to explore the origins and future of mRNA medicines and lay a foundation for a dialogue in Germany and Europe, which will help translate biomedical progress into progress for the good of the public.”
